It was\u00a0 Bright evening,and in front of a Tea Stall many children assembled were seen engrossed hearing fairy tales explained by a Retired Soldier Ramdas who owns the Tea stall , Every day he entertained Children of Saraswati Colony in Abids,\u00a0 Hyderabad and ended by providing them with sweets and gifts from\u00a0 his earnings working as Night Watchman in their vicinity.<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n
The whole vicinity respected and loved him as he\u00a0 not only secured their vicinity but also their children.<\/div>\n
Ramdas apart from Owning Tea Stall also renders his services as Watchman in the night even after his kin coaxing him to take rest.\u00a0 \u00a0But his answer was THE SOLDIER NEVER SLEEPS.<\/div>\n
Ramdas don in Soldiers Uniform with a hard stick in his hand,\u00a0 and a whistle dangling in his front pocket would March past Saraswati Colony blowing his siren to mark his presence.<\/div>\n
Some Youngsters under the inebriated\u00a0 condition driving with high speed used to play pranks on old Watchman by snatching\u00a0 away his stick and throwing back to him , he showed his anguish and vent on them but nothing improved.<\/div>\n
But Ramdas never complained about Pranksters to higher authorities or their\u00a0 Parents even knowing their identity,\u00a0 \u00a0but panting for breath only shouted<\/div>\n
\u00a0” Badmash,\u00a0 Stop pranks or will suffer” and smiled within him, such was his greatness.<\/div>\n
As one night when Ramdas was on his night duty,\u00a0 he noticed two youngsters fallen on Roadside bleeding it seems in inebriated condition they fell from their speeding bike,\u00a0 they were\u00a0 none another than Ravi and Prakash who played pranks with him.<\/div>\n
There was not a vehicle nor a single passerby as it was almost\u00a011.30pm<\/span><\/span>, Ramdas without disturbing the vicinity phoned 108 wherein Ambulance arrived, after few minutes.<\/div>\n
Ambulance Driver in rash tone “Watchman have you lodged police complaint,\u00a0 where are the Police”<\/div>\n
Ramdas ” Sir Let us not disturb the vicinity and wait for the police,\u00a0 as the boys are constantly bleeding,\u00a0 let us carry them to the hospital”\u00a0 saying he pleaded at them.<\/div>\n
Finally the Driver gave a nod , Ramdas carried both the boys and placed them in Ambulance accompanying them left the place and reached a Private Nursing Home Ashvadama<\/div>\n
At the Hospital,\u00a0 Doctors were also courteous they attended to bleeding youngsters,\u00a0 no case was lodged.<\/div>\n
The next morning the Parents were informed,\u00a0 who rushed to the hospital and met their ailing children who were out of danger and recovering.<\/div>\n
They wholeheartedly thanked Ramdas for his humanitarian gesture and repented for ignoring their Children,\u00a0 and took entire responsibility of the accident.<\/div>\n
After Recovering even Ravi and Prakash also felt ashamed for their act and pleaded\u00a0 for forgiveness in front of Ramdas.<\/div>\n
Ramdas was Proud and Happy with one humanitarian act he was able to bring in a significant change in Parents and Children.<\/div>\n
As usual he continued his Duty as Watchman,\u00a0 but on a tragic day as he was on his duty\u00a0 a Speeding\u00a0 Bolero Car hit him and sped away leaving him badly bruised with blood gushing from his head.\u00a0 After suffering and moaning in pain for few minutes with none in the vicinity to take care Ramdas\u00a0 breathed his Last.<\/div>\n
It was a sad day for Whole Saraswati Colony,\u00a0 Children and colony members were in tears wailing\u00a0 for a noble soul who guarded them and their Children for decades, and also the amount paid as Salary to Ramdas was used by him\u00a0 to buy gifts and sweets for\u00a0 children.<\/div>\n
The Whole vicinity took the responsibility and bore expenses in completing the rituals\u00a0 of Ramdas along with his family members<\/div>\n
Children were gloomy and looked sad while passing by Ramdas Tea stall returning from School.\u00a0 \u00a0With tears in their eyes each child\u00a0 placed a toffee on his shop and saluted him\u00a0 as a Mark of respect\u00a0 as a\u00a0 due for\u00a0 his greatness in showering\u00a0 love and affection on them\u00a0 every day.<\/div>\n
Soldier doesn’t have a holiday or retirement he is\u00a0 on duty 24\/7.<\/span><\/div>\n
