STORY :Padmavati a fantasy poem written by a Sufi Saint Malik Muhamed Jayasi in 1540 became a immortal history depicting the Beauty , Intelligence, Valour and Sacrifice of a brave Rajput Queen .
Mehrawal Ratan Singh(Shahid Kapoor) Emperor of Mewar Kingdom falls for Beauty and Brains in form of a Rajput beau Padmavati(Deepika Padukone) and weds her making her empress of Mewar Kingdom. , but evil eyes befalls on Padmavati and Mewar Kingdom in the form of Allaudin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) a beastly ruler from Khilji Dynasty that ruled Delhi Sultanate invaded many kingdoms forcing their queens to quench his Lust and obsessed with beauty of Padmavati takes oath to conquer her.
Allaudin attacks Mewar Kingdom with large forces, in the gruesome battle Ratan Singh is Killed using treachery means and not plying to principles of war goes for Padmavati.
But Brave Rajputians are ready to sacrifice themselves than surrendering their honor. Padmavati and her Women Jump in to pyre dealting a big defeat on the face of ghastly beast Allaudin Khilji.
PERFORMANCES: It is Ranveer Singh as Allaudin Khilji who impresses through out the film with his Villianish antics and is the Main Frame of the film, While Deepika Padukone as Padmavati looked beautiful and gracious did a commendable job so did Shahid Kapoor as Ratan Singh.
SanjayLeela Bhansali once again Proved even with few grains he can churn a tasty recipe for hundreds to eat such is his Crafty Workmanship and his extraordinary direction had even Karni Sena take back by Surprise.
The Grandeur Sets of Forts added to its richness is shown magnificently by Art Director, the mesmerising brilliant Cinematography by Sudip Chaterjee is seen in every frame. Bhansali music is average but background score amazing.
MINUS : Dragging in bits but to a Lesser context.
Karni Sena unnecessary protests against a film without viewing caused much damage to Property and the filmmakers.
Even with many cuts and Change in title #Padmavat came out as Winner and served a big Slap to Selfish motives of People revolting to curb the film.
Nothing against Hinduism nor distorting facts were shown in the film. A Pure History with Rajput Pride the Source of film.
I go with 4/5 for the Valor and Sacrifice of a great Queen Padmavati, Ranveer Singh’s ruthless Show and the Craftsmanship of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
